Ho Chi Minh City the Association of Supporting Chinese Literature Executive Committee – 1st Session of 2024
On the morning of August 10, at the office of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Supporting Chinese Literature, the Executive Committee meeting held its first meeting of 2024, in charged by Mr. Cô Gia Thọ, President, and Mr. Đỗ Long, Standing Vice President. Also attending the meeting were Mr. Vưu Khải Thành, Honorary President, along with senior advisors and vice chairpersons who are not part of the Executive Committee Meeting.
The meeting agenda included the following reports:
Secretary’s Report:
- The office has completed the renovation of the workspace and meeting room.
- The decision regarding the Executive Board and Standing Committee has been announced. The office will send the official decision to all Executive Committee members next week.
- The Standing Committee has decided to establish the Award and Emulation Council. This council will collect information and prepare reports for the request to receive the City’s traditional flag in celebration of the Association’s 35th anniversary. The council members include Mr. Cô Gia Thọ, Mr. Đỗ Long, Mr. Trần Lệ Nguyên, Mr. Trần Em, Mrs. Nhan Húc Quân, Mrs. Lý Kim Thy, and Mr. Lâm Đại Phú.
- Plans for organizing the 35th Anniversary Celebration of the Association and the Teacher Appreciation Day event on November 16, 2024, with the theme “35 Years – Collaborating for the Development of Education” (35年 群策群力 發展教育).
- Preparation of the 35th Anniversary Commemorative Yearbook.
Financial Report:
-As of August 9, the Association has received a total of 5,334,640,000 VND in contributions from benefactors.
The Standing Committee has approved the following authorization limits for expenditures: For expenditures over 1 billion VND, approval is required from the Standing Committee, for expenditures between 100 million VND and 1 billion VND, approval is required from the President, for expenditures under 100 million VND, the Vice President for Financial Affairs will approve, for expenditures under 5 million VND, the General Secretaryl will approve.
Education Report:
- The Association will invite the principals of Chinese language centers to a meeting at the Association office on the morning of August 15.
- The Standing Committee has also approved several plans, including the awards for Outstanding Teachers and Excellent Students to be presented at the Teacher Appreciation Day on November 20, as well as the short-term teacher training plan and the donation of library books to centers, all of which will be implemented by June 2025.
