According to information from our newspaper, at the invitation of the Association of Supporting Chinese Literature in Can Tho City, Mr. Tăng Phước Lộc, Deputy Head of the Ethnic Affairs Department of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Dương Quốc Tuấn, Secretary-General of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Cô Gia Thọ, President of the Association of Supporting Chinese Literature in HCMC, and Mrs. Lý Kim Thy, Vice President of the Association, along with their delegation, visited the Association of Supporting Chinese Literature in Can Tho City today (22nd). The delegation was warmly received by President Ngô Quốc Tuấn and the members of the Association.
Mr. Ngô Quốc Tuấn, President of the Association of Supporting Chinese Literature in Can Tho City, introduced the delegation to the current situation of Chinese language education in Can Tho. He candidly shared both the favorable conditions and challenges that the association has encountered in its activities. Additionally, he introduced the Vietnam-China School in Can Tho, which currently enrolls around 1,000 students. To meet the growing demand for Chinese language education, the Association has decided to implement the third phase of the school’s expansion. This initiative has received strong support from the local Chinese community and philanthropists both within and outside of the country who care about education. The third phase is expected to be completed by the end of this year and will better meet the needs of local Chinese students and those from other ethnic groups while ensuring they also excel in Vietnamese. This is a positive contribution from the Chinese community in Can Tho to the long-term educational development of the country, training future pillars of society.
On this occasion, the Association of Supporting Chinese Literature in Ho Chi Minh City donated 50 million VND, while Thiên Long Group contributed 100 million VND to support the construction of the Vietnam-China School in Can Tho. Mr. Cô Gia Thọ, President of the Association of Supporting Chinese Literature in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his hope that in the future, the two associations will maintain regular communication and have more opportunities for deeper cooperation, working together to promote the development of Chinese language education and contribute to training talents for the country.
